Ribbon cutting program

The Austin Chamber’s Ribbon cutting program is postponed for the time being due to Austin’s Stay Home, Stay Safe initiative.

The Austin Chamber ribbon cutting program is a member benefit for Build, Catalyst, Advocate, and Chairman’s Circle membership tiers. We are excited to celebrate with your business – whether it is a grand opening, new building space, or a business anniversary.

How to schedule your ribbon cutting ceremony

Before scheduling your ribbon cutting with the Chamber, please review the below tips for a successful event:

  • Plan a date at least 3 weeks in advance to ensure you have enough time to invite your guests and alert the Chamber.
  • Create a digital promotional invitation to invite your local businesses, clients, prospects and suppliers – the more the merrier. We also send these invitations to our volunteer Ambassador Committee and Chamber staff to enhance attendance.
  • A Chamber representative will provide the formal ribbon and scissors and help orchestrate the ceremony. We recommend having at least one speaker from your business for the event.
  • Your Chamber representative will take some photos to place on our social media but consider having someone in your organization acting as your event photographer as well. If you are able, hiring a professional photographer means you can utilize your event photos for future marketing materials.
  • We encourage you to provide refreshments for attendees and decorate for the occasion (balloons, banners, etc.). We also recommend making brochures, flyers, and/or business cards available for attendees to take.

Additional Benefits

As part of your ribbon cutting benefit, we will publish a blog article to showcase both your business and your celebration. Once you request your ribbon cutting ceremony, we will send you a quick form to make sure we have the best information about your business.
