Last night, Pflugerville Independent School District (PFISD) Superintendent Dr. Alex Torrez announced his decision to resign at the end of his contract in September 2017. Dr. Torrez’s leadership has been instrumental in PFISD’s success since his hiring in 2013. Under Dr. Torrez’s leadership, PFISD signed the Direct-to-College Achievement Plan (DTC70) to help the region achieve 70% of area high school graduates directly enrolling into college. Dr. Torrez. Last month, Dr. Torrez unveiled the region's first Computer Science Academy at Connally High School, a promising new tool for regional economic development.
