The Hilton Austin believes that their engagement in the educational community can brighten the futures of many. Bea Jaramillo, Director of Human Resources at the Hilton Austin explains,

“Hilton’s future depends on resilient and thriving societies, and this starts with young people. In 2013, 75 million youth were unemployed worldwide.”

Hilton believes in giving back to the educational community and cultivating a prosperous environment. The hotel is deeply engaged with Austin ISD to help deepen the regional candidate pool through training and employing students. They also partner with Austin Community College by allowing current students to intern, helping them select departments to enhance their current talent abilities. Bea goes on to say,

"We have a wonderful partnership with Travis High School’s Hospitality and Culinary program, which includes internships, student summer placement, and post graduate placement. Since 2014, we have offered 10 $1,000 scholarships per year to students seeking higher education who graduate from these programs. We have also participated in beautification and betterment projects at the school, such as installing benches, planting trees, gardening, renovating the teacher break room, donating money to renovate their dining room and so much more. Hilton Austin also partnered with Bowie High School for approximately 11 years hosting interns during the school year.
We also host a charity event for Texas School for the Deaf each year, allowing students to utilize our facility to prepare the dinner working side by side with our chefs.
Additionally, we host interns from ACC and create internship programs to fit their needs. We partner with ACC on tours of our facilities and sometimes hold class in the hotel so the students can have a first-hand view of what the various departments look like."

As a company, Hilton participates in Passport to Success and is heavily involved in the International Youth Foundation. Recently, Bea was a speaker for LEAPS and IYF to speak to youth in rural areas about career and education.

Hilton also has a tuition reimbursement benefit that is used frequently by their team members.
