Austin Chamber of Commerce 2022 Board Chair Fred Heldenfels recently published an op-ed in the Austin Business Journal about his vision for 2022 and beyond. He shared some of that vision at Cheers to the Year early this month as well.

You can read the full article here, but below are some highlights.

"Our region’s moment is here. How we navigate it and plan for the future will impact millions. The chamber wants to lead the way.

"This year, I am honored to be the chair for the chamber’s board of directors, and I am in awe of all that we have accomplished together while being humbled by the road ahead.

"My top priority for 2022 is to initiate a joint super-regional partnership between the eight-county San Antonio region and our five-county Austin region. We should find ways to collaborate with our neighbors to form a mutually beneficial economic development corridor or super-region in Central Texas.

"At the Greater Austin Chamber, we are honored to serve the region as stewards of this potential, and we look forward to the prosperity it brings."
