On October 9, A+ Federal Credit Union hosted our second annual employee day of giving: A+ Gives Day. Over 500 A+FCU employees volunteered 1,750+ hours at 66 organizations on this special credit union-wide day of doing charitable activities.
To broaden the impact this year, A+FCU engaged the community in the days leading up to A+ Gives Day by inviting members and organization supporters to vote and determine which four deserving local nonprofits would each receive $2,500 donations.
It was exciting that the online voting process generated over 4,750 votes with these four receiving the most votes: Backpack Friends, HopeAustin, ROCK Ride On Center for Kids, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas. The $10,000 in donations was awarded by our team members who were on site at each organization during the day of volunteering.
We host A+ Gives Day as a tangible way to connect our team members with each other and the community, as they all spend a day volunteering to give back in the areas of food insecurity, animal needs, local park clean up, and community outreach.
