Austin Chamber Recognizes Local Companies for Excellence
ATX Plays, LLC selected by public as Most Uniquely Austin
AUSTIN, Texas – Sept. 2, 2016 – The Austin Chamber of Commerce announced winners of its 16th Annual Greater Austin Business Awards. The awards were presented during ceremonies held on Thursday evening at the Hyatt Austin in front of about 1,000 attendees.
"As the voice of business, we are excited to play a role in recognizing local companies who demonstrate excellence,” said Ellen Wood, CEO of vcfo, and Chamber Chair-Elect. "Having a healthy and engaged business community is vital to our region’s prosperity. It goes well beyond creating jobs for our citizens. In addition to paying taxes that help fuel vital community services, the business community gives back through millions of dollars in company donations and employee volunteer contributions that help lift up many Austinites.”
Close to 500 small, medium and large companies were nominated for the Chamber’s Business Awards. The winners were selected by an independent panel of judges except for the Most Uniquely Austin Award, which was selected by open public voting. Winners were announced in the following nine sponsored categories:
The Horseshoe Bay Most Uniquely Austin Award recognizes a company that embraces Austin's unique culture and exemplifies what it means to live and do business in Austin. This year’s winner is ATX Plays, LLC.
The eBay, Inc Technology & Innovation Award recognizes any organization that employs new ideas or approaches to doing business. This year’s winners are AMD, Large Division; Adlucent, Mid-Sized Division; and XOR Data Exchange, Small Division.
The Goodwill Industries of Central Texas Non-Profit Award recognizes any Section 501(c)(3) public charity or private foundation that is tirelessly focused on serving the community through collaborative partnerships and impactful programming. This year’s winner is Austin Habitat for Humanity.
The Cook-Walden Funeral Home Community Relations Award recognizes any organization that demonstrates a successful approach to corporate social responsibility and can show a positive impact on the community. This year’s winners are Rose Dental Group, Large Division; Spire Consulting Group, LLC, Mid-Sized Division; and Altura Solutions, LP, Small Division.
The British Airways International Trade, Investment, & Expansion Award recognizes investments by international companies in Austin that create jobs locally, as well as Austin-based companies who have a global impact through products and services provided worldwide. This year’s winners are ARM, Inc., Large Division; Bioo Scientific, Mid-Sized Division; and Protocol & Etiquette Worldwide, LLC, Small Division.
The Higginbotham Health & Wellness Award recognizes any organization that actively encourages employees to engage in a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. This year’s winners are Silicon Labs, Large Division; The Karis Group, Mid-Sized Division; and Medi-Weightloss Clinic, Small Division.
The Intel Environmental Responsibility & Sustainability Award recognizes any organization that demonstrates commitment to environmentally sound practices. This year’s winners are Legalzoom, Large Division; Freedom Solar Power, Mid-Sized Division; and Capsa Ventures, Small Division.
The KPMG Executive Leadership Award recognizes presidents, principals or chief executive officers for devoting time and energy to strengthen and transform the organization they lead. This year’s winners are WP Engine, Large Division; TreeHouse, Inc., Mid-Sized Division; and Texas Engineering Solutions, Small Division.
The Time Warner Cable Business Class Customer Service & Loyalty Award recognizes any organization in any industry dedicated to outstanding customer service and satisfaction in all aspects of sales and service. This year’s winners are Hilton Austin, Large Division; Transfinder Corporation, Mid-Sized Division; and Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes, Small Division.
