Mayor Steve Adler declares September 1st to be "Kydd Jones Day"

Jones made his mark on the scene first with the powerhouse hip-hop crew LNS (Leaders of the New Skool) Crew and later as a solo artist. In recent years, he's diversified his portfolio by creating Onyx D’or, a streetwear line centered on urban culture. Through Austin Community College's fashion incubator program, Jones was able to travel to Cairo to develop his brand, which is now featured in Austin-area Macy's stores.
On Sept. 8, Jones celebrates the one-year anniversary of his monthly comedy jam at Antone's with a show featuring Jeff Shelley, Lando Shepard, Rochelle McConico and more. He will be performing a hip-hop set at the Mohawk on Sept. 13 as part of the HAAM Day celebrations that raise money to help the local nonprofit provide low cost health insurance to musicians." - Deborah Sengupta-Stith (Austin360/Austin American-Statesman)
