Concerts 4 Austin Charities (C4AC) is pleased to announce that its 2024 Austin Cares Concert supporting Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), Superhero Kids, and the Step Onward Foundation will be held at Moody Center on January 28, 2024. The headline artist will be The Doobie Brothers, with original Doobie members Pat Simmons, Tom Johnston, and John McFee. They will be joined in Austin by Michael McDonald. The Doobie Brothers started their successful 50th Anniversary Tour in August of 2020 and is excited to play as a part of the Austin Cares Concert.

The Doobie Brothers are an American rock band formed in 1970 in San Jose, California. The group has produced 14 studio albums, including 6 top-ten appearances in The Billboard 200 Album Chart. Their 1978 album Minute by Minute reached number one for five weeks. The band won a Grammy, while the single “What a Fool

Believes” won 3 Grammys. Their 1976 album Best of The Doobies was certified Diamond by RIAA for surpassing album sales of 10 million. They continued to produce many Top 40 hits throughout the 70s and 80s. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 7, 2020.

Bill Murray, co-founder and President of C4AC says: “After years of doing local shows in support of Austin’s music community and successfully producing their annual fundraising event the Austin Cares Concert in 2019, 2020, and 2022, we were given the amazing opportunity to move the event to Moody Center for 2024.” Bill goes on to say: “Obviously, filling a 10,000-seat arena produces new and exciting challenges, not the least of which was finding a suitable headliner. Tickets for this event, which will also feature performances by local artists The Patrice Pike and PAACK, go on sale to the public Friday, November 17 at 10am CT. Venue presale is TODAY Wednesday, November 15 at and will run until Thursday at 10pm (code: DOOBS24).
