Mental health is an important issue in Texas, where over 3.3 million adults have a mental health condition - three times the population of Austin. With such a significant need for mental health services in the state, it is important to find ways to improve access to care for those who need it.

To address this need, Family Care Center is opening four clinics in the Austin metro area in 2023. The first clinic is already open in Round Rock, and three more clinics will open this summer in Pflugerville, Central Austin, and Cedar Park. Our goal is to provide high-quality and convenient access to mental health services for people throughout the Austin metro area.

Meeting the Needs of the Community

Founded in 2016, Family Care Center started with the goal of helping Veterans, military, and first responders. Since then, we have grown to become America's premier provider of behavioral health services for the community, with over 20 locations and growing. We are committed to providing evidence-based behavioral healthcare to members of the local community and accept most commercial and government health insurance programs.

Family Care Center designs our clinics to provide patients with rapid access to a multidisciplinary staff that delivers patient-centered care guided by outcomes. Each clinic in the Austin area will include approximately 15 providers, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners/physician assistants, masters-level therapists, psychologists, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) services.

“At Family Care Center we want to create a world-class environment for our providers and patients, but ultimately our goal is to improve the lives in our community. I am relocating my family to Texas to focus on this community to my fullest and make a positive impact,” said Dr. Chuck Weber, Founder and Chief Medical Officer.

A Holistic & Integrated Care Approach

Family Care Center provides a full spectrum of counseling and therapy services, including individual, family, marriage and couples counseling, child play therapy, and more. Our team is skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based individual therapies.

Our integrated, holistic treatment approach offers our patients a wide range of services, including medication management. At Family Care Center, prescribing providers collaborate with therapists to conduct diagnostic assessments and, where appropriate, prescribe medications. This multidisciplinary team approach improves the patient experience, optimizes access, and ultimately delivers better experiences for our patients.

New Hope with TMS

For patients with treatment-resistant depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, we offer FDA-approved transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to augment their care. People who receive TMS report outstanding clinical outcomes, with over 75% of individuals experiencing a clinically significant positive response. TMS candidates are often referred by their therapist or prescriber or self-refer. Candidates receive an initial no-cost consultation to learn more about TMS and determine if it is clinically appropriate.
