Today, KLM Airlines announced that starting on May 7, 2020, it will begin connecting Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol three times a week. KLM will operate an Airbus A330-300 on the route which offers 30 World Business Class seats, 40 Economy Comfort seats and 222 Economy class seats. The flight will depart Austin at 6:00PM CT and arrive in Amsterdam at 10:25AM the following day. Flights will depart Amsterdam at 12:40PM and arrive in Austin at 4:10PM CT. Opportunity Austin played a significant role in recruiting this flight and has invested in its success.

"We are thrilled with today’s announcement that KLM has chosen to connect Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Amsterdam Schiphol with nonstop service beginning in May 2020. This is a major win for our airport, our business community, and our region. The Chamber works to connect our community globally and make it more efficient for business travelers to get to Europe and beyond, and today, along with our partners, we have done just that. It is particularly exciting that KLM’s decision is another sign of increased investment by the SkyTeam Alliance following Delta naming Austin a ‘Focus City’ and opening up a SkyClub at AUS earlier this year. We look forward to filling up KLM’s aircraft and we are grateful for their investment in our region.” Doug Driskill, Chair Austin Chamber of Commerce Air Services Task Force & VP Client Support Services for Dell
