On April 18, 2023, the German American Chambers of Commerce (GACC South) will be hosting the German American Smart City Symposium in Austin, Texas. The symposium will bring important stakeholders together to discuss smart city trends and the expansion of future-oriented urban planning in Texas and beyond. Presentations from both German and American actors will highlight the fast-growing smart city market in both countries. Additionally, the conference will allow visiting German delegates the chance to present their companies’ innovative smart city solutions to the US market. By fostering open dialogue on smart city technologies in both countries, this symposium will give guests a greater understanding and appreciation of smart city innovations on both sides of the Atlantic.

The event will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, 500 N Interstate 35 on April 18, from 8:30am to 12:30pm. This event is free of charge, and breakfast will be provided. The symposium will be followed by opportunities for networking over a complimentary lunch.

This symposium is a part of the Future-Oriented Urban Planning Delegation trip, taking place in Austin and Houston from April 17-21 2023. The GACC South will welcome a delegation of German SME’s within the Smart City sector. The goal of the trip is to introduce visiting German companies to the market, give them the opportunity to expand their business network through briefings, conferences, B2B meetings, site visits, and discussions with local industry experts.

This delegation trip is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Through funding for market entry trips, the BMWK aims to support German companies in their foreign trade activities and the expansion of business contacts in the USA.
