Greater Austin Chamber Vice Chair for Air Services Doug Driskill released the following statement regarding today's city council vote in favor of the airport master plan:

“We applaud city council and Mayor Adler for quickly passing the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport master plan on consent. We congratulate ABIA Executive Director Jim Smith and his entire team on a job well done and endorse their proposed master plan, which now goes to the Federal Aviation Administration for final approval. ABIA conducted a comprehensive and open master plan process that sets the table for expansion, development, and innovation at our airport for the next 20 years. City council’s swift approval of this vision moves us one step closer to beginning in earnest the work that impacts our economy through job creation and tourism.”
