Giddy up Pflugerville, Amazon is coming to town with 1,000 new jobs. Amazon's new 820,000 square-foot fulfillment center is forecasting to have 1,000 new full-time roles. On Wednesday, July 15, Amazon announced the expected 2021 opening of their new facility.

Employees will work with robotics to ship, pack, and pick items. Along with the industry-leading benefits Amazon has to offer, minimum wage will begin at $15 per hour. There are currently over 20,000 "Amazonians" in the state of Texas.

“Pflugerville is a bustling area, and the addition of this fulfillment center with over 1,000 jobs shows that Pflugerville is the new frontier in Central Texas." said Mayor Victor Gonzales

Amazon will also invest more than $700 million in 100,000 employees for training in high demand positions for Amazon's tech hubs, corporate offices, retail stores, transportation, as well as opportunities to pursue careers other than of Amazon.
