September Renewable energy manufacturer Complete Energy Systems to relocate from Boca Raton, Fla.

CES will move into a 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing building in Pflugerville’s Renewable Energy Industrial Park. They proposed to create 230 assembly/manufacturing jobs, invest $13.4 million in machinery/equipment, and pay an average annual wage of $55,000. CES will receive incentives from the city of Pflugerville.

August Office Depot Selects Austin for Sales Division

Office Depot, a leading global provider of office supplies and services headquartered in Boca Raton, FL, announced plans to locate its new inside sales organization in Austin. The project will result in the creation of more than 200 jobs and serve Office Depot’s small business customers. The project is receiving an award from the Texas Enterprise Fund as well as incentives from Williamson County.

July Electronic Arts announces expansion in Austin

World giant video game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) is opening a branch of their famed EA Sports division in Austin. The expansion is expected to bring over 300 jobs. Headquartered in Redwood City, Calif., EA employs 450 people locally in the EA-owned BioWare Corp. game development studio, as well as support divisions, such as IT and finance.

May Altera Establishes New R&D Center in Austin

Altera Corporation announces its establishment of a new research and development center in Southwest Austin. The San Jose-based company expects to hire several hundred employees in the coming years, most of whom will be engineers.

May Biopharmaceutical Company Xeris Joins the Growing Ranks of California Businesses Relocating in Austin

Xeris – an early-stage biopharmaceutical company developing patient-friendly injectables to treat endocrine and metabolic diseases – announced their relocation from Larkspur, California to Austin, Texas.

April eBay to create 1,000 jobs in Austin

eBay Inc., a world-wide leader in online commerce, will expand its business operations center in Austin, adding an additional 1,000 jobs over the next 10 years. The state’s Texas Enterprise Fund will invest $2.8 million into the expansion which is expected to generate an estimated $5.1 million in capital investment. In addition to the TEF award, the City of Austin approved a $1.2 million incentive grant.
