Chamber’s A-List of the Hottest Start-ups Shine on Forbes

Posted on 01/27/2015 by Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce

It’s no surprise that 11 Austinites made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list — we’re consistently ranked as having the smartest talent pool in the country and our region encourages the development of an innovative community where entrepreneurs and innovators thrive. We applaud each of the 11 representing Austin, but we are especially proud to congratulate our A-List winners’ recent accolades named to Forbes 30 Under 30:

We would also like to congratulate A-Lister, Phunware, Inc., for its inclusion in Forbes’ 100 Most Promising Companies list. The mobile-app developer ranked 58th on the fourth annual list and the company was evaluated by its revenue growth, capital raised, operating margins and workforce growth.

We’re proud to see these 2013 A-List Winners honored for their hard work and innovation. The Chamber, in partnership with South by Southwest Interactive, honors Austin’s most promising startups each spring. Top honorees are named in three investment stage categories: emerging, growth and scale. Our winners represent key sectors of innovation, including: enterprise big data, social, health, entertainment and consumer product goods.

Recognition as an A-List Company is intended to increase the visibility of Austin’s most fundable, scalable and innovative regional startups, and drive increased venture capital funding to Central Texas. As of the Spring 2014 announcement, there has been a combined $348,720,000 in investment for all A-List honorees since the inception of the awards in 2011.
