2023 A-LIST Awards Recap
12 years of celebrating Austin's brightest innovators

On Tuesday, May 23 the Austin Chamber and Opportunity Austin, in partnership with SXSW, held the 12th Annual A-LIST Awards. This event is designed to recognize homegrown companies in various growth stages. These companies are developing new ways to connect with customers while transforming their industries and creating a robust culture for their employees.
For this year's event, we returned to the Long Center for the Performing Arts, which featured both a VIP reception beforehand and an after-party following the event with live music, food, and drinks. At the VIP reception, Kristine Anderson with BAE Systems welcomed the crowd and shared some remarks to kickoff the evening.
Featured Speakers - Dr. Van Truskett and Bill Gurley
For our keynote discussion, we were thrilled to have Dr. Van Truskett with the Texas Innovation Center at the University of Texas and Bill Gurley, General Partner at Venture Capital firm Benchmark. They gave us insight on what it takes to be successful as a startup and how the Austin community can help. Bill also emphasized the importance of focusing on the younger generation as they will be our future founders and business leaders.
