Our priorities

We work with elected officials and policymakers to ensure our nation continues to plan for growth and find solutions to the challenges we face.

  • Research investment & job growth

We support increased federal funding by multiple agencies engaged in basic research and development to transform ideas into reality.

  • Sustainable infrastructure

We support Congress fixing the Highway Trust Fund permanently and the Move America Act to include new, long-term sustainable infrastructure funding based on up-to-date population figures.

  • Optimize talent & workforce performance

We support increasing legal immigration slots for highly skilled STEM graduates, creating entrepreneur visas, legalizing DACA beneficiaries, and reauthorizing the Higher Education Act.

  • Innovation

We support an on-time NDAA budget with predictable funding for military modernization to accelerate the success of national security innovation in the United States and the Austin region.

  • Strong trade agreements & opposition to harmful tariffs

We oppose new tariffs that threaten the competitiveness of U.S. businesses. All trade policies, including the United States/Mexico/Canada Agreement (USMCA), should protect sensitive IP, investment transparency and due process in government procurement.

  • Federal Advocacy Visit

    SAVE THE DATE: June 11 - 13, 2024

Each year, the Chamber leads a group of Austin business and community leaders to advocate for pro-business policies in Washington, DC.
