This summer, we launched the third year of our Summer High School Internship Program, in partnership with Austin ISD and Austin Ed Fund. 70+ talented interns gained hands-on experience at 40 businesses and organizations across Austin—including two interns who worked right here at the Chamber.

2026 Program Details:

• Summer interns will work 20 hours a week for 6 weeks from June 8 to July 24, 2026, with a program break from June 29 - July 4.
• Students will receive a $2,000 stipend for living expenses.
• Students receive course credit through the completion of a capstone project.
• Students receive 2 days of professional career training to prepare them for the workplace.
• To participate, businesses are asked to make a $2,500 donation to Austin ISD’s EdFund which will go towards compensating students and program costs.
• Students are supported by certified teachers who act as career coaches and meet with students weekly.

Ways to Support the Program:

• Sign up to host an intern in 2026
• Sponsor a student by making a donation to AISD to place a student with a non-profit.
