Posted on 01/10/2019

Austin Gives, a program of the Greater Austin Chamber that encourages business philanthropy, has opened nominations for this year's Generous Business Awards. Nominations close on Feb. 8, 2019.

“Austin is incredibly fortunate to have an outstanding business culture," said Austin Gives Director Beth Krueger. "Austin Gives looks to honor all of the job creators and employers that make giving back to the community a part of their business model. Each year special recognition is given to those businesses that are giving back in meaningful and impactful ways. We receive a multitude of deserving nominees and are confident Austin will once again bring forth the best stories of how businesses are making a difference through their philanthropy.”

Austin Gives recognizes businesses that have pledged 1 percent of pre-tax earnings—such as volunteer time, products, services and financial support—toward community impact efforts. The program is voluntary with no cost to participants.

Finalists will be selected from each category:
Charitable Champion: 26 or less employees
Big Heart: 27-100 employees
Bold Giver: 101-400 employees
Community Leaders: 401+ employees

All businesses will be acknowledged for their generous contributions at the Austin Gives Generous Business Awards luncheon on April 12, 2019. One winner will be named in each category.

Last year’s award recipients include Moonshine Sweet Tea, JE Dunn Construction, WP Engine and Wells Fargo.
