AUSTIN, Texas––The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Charisse Bodsich, senior vice president of economic development, was honored with the 2021 Friend of Manufacturing award from the Austin Regional Manufacturing Association (ARMA). Award recipients are chosen based on their significant contributions to the Central Texas manufacturing community.

“ARMA is a fantastic organization doing so much for our manufacturing community,” Bodisch said. “It is an honor to be recognized in this manner and emblematic of the relationships our entire team strives to develop at the Austin Chamber.”

Bodisch has more than 26 years of experience in economic development and has served in her current role with the Austin Chamber of Commerce for almost seven years. She leads the award-winning team dedicated to business recruitment of new corporate citizens and expansion of the local industry base for the five-county Austin region. As a result of Bodisch's leadership, the region has one of its most diverse portfolios in history, which includes two of the biggest deals in Texas history that include Samsung’s $17 billion investment in Taylor and Tesla’s new Gigafactory.

“Charisse’s tenure with the Austin Chamber has been nothing short of excellent, she is truly deserving of this prestigious award,” Laura Huffman, president and CEO, Austin Chamber of Commerce, said. “Her work within the manufacturing sector has supported numerous organizations throughout the Austin region and helped create opportunities for the entire community. There is no doubt in my mind that Charisse deserves every accolade presented to her and I couldn’t be more proud of my friend and colleague.”
