The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce has announced that nominations for the 2022 Austin Gives Awards are being accepted through July 7, 2022.
Austin Gives is a program that recognizes corporate philanthropy by encouraging companies across the Austin region that donate 1% or more of their pre-tax earnings to the local community. This includes financial contributions, the donation of products/services and volunteer hours.
The Aust Gives Awards is a chance to recognize some businesses for the good they are doing in the community.
“The Austin Gives Awards are a great opportunity to recognize businesses that are giving back,” said Bobby Jenkins, Chair of Austin Gives and Owner of ABC Home and Commercial Services. “I believe that doing good is good for the community and for business. That’s why I am proud to be a part of Austin Gives. I believe deeply in the mission of making Austin region the most generous community in the country.”
Nominations for Austin Gives awards are being accepted in three categories, with awards given based on company size. The three categories are:
- Generous Business Awards: Companies in any industry with fully-developed community philanthropy programs are eligible to apply. Applications should note all forms of philanthropy, including employee engagement, donation of products and services, intellectual capital, and monetary support of non-profit and community organizations.
- Employee Engagement: Companies with established programs that promote and support employee volunteer efforts are eligible to apply. Program enrollment and employee participation statistics are encouraged.
- Individual Volunteer of the Year: This award is given to an individual who leads by example, demonstrating a genuine desire to forge the next generation of volunteer leaders through their own generosity, community service, coaching, and collaboration
Community leaders will judge nominees, and the businesses making the most significant impact in our community will be recognized at the Austin Gives awards.
“The Austin Chamber is proud to sponsor the Austin Gives program because corporate philanthropy is good for business. Purpose-driven companies enjoy increased customer loyalty, attract top-tier employees, and foster a positive work environment,” said Bethany Leffingwell, Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications and Programming for the Austin Chamber of Commerce. “If your company makes generosity a part of your business model, we believe you deserve to be recognized and celebrated for your efforts.”
Last year’s Austin Gives Awards recognized DISCO, Pearlstone Partners, Alen Air, Firehouse Vets, Dell Technologies, Lillian Diaz Gray of Bank of America, and Gary Keller of Keller Williams.
