Ceremony to be held virtually on Thursday, July 22

AUSTIN, Texas—On Thursday July 22, the Austin Chamber of Commerce will host the 10th annual Austin Gives Generous Business Awards virtually. The event recognizes businesses that have pledged one percent of pre-tax earnings—such as volunteer time, products, services, and financial support—toward community impact efforts. The program is voluntary with no cost to participants.

“The Generous Business Awards are such a monumental part of the thriving business environment in the Austin region, and we are thrilled to be celebrating these achievements for the tenth year,” Bobby Jenkins, owner of ABC Home & Commercial Services, said. “Giving back to the community is just as vital a business component as any other, and we are proud to showcase organizations and individuals that continue to make philanthropy a core part of their brand identity.”

Gary Keller, co-founder of Keller Williams, will be the 2021 recipient of the Bobby Jenkins Philanthropic Leadership Award. Keller is also the executive chairman of Austin-based kxw, the holding company of Keller Williams (KW). KW is the world’s largest real estate technology franchise by agent count. Keller will be presented with this award, alongside 21 other honorees, at the Austin Gives Generous Business Awards on July 22nd.

Keller served as chief executive officer of Keller Williams from 1983 to 1995, and then again from 2019 to late 2020. In between his tenures as CEO, Keller advanced KW into a technology company, and shifted focus to fueling the simplest, smartest and most human-centered design experiences in real estate in partnership with agents. He stepped down as CEO in October of 2020 to form kxw, an integrated home experience company that unites the Keller Williams ecosystem of companies and their agent-centric community.

Keller is also the bestselling author of The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results, The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, The Millionaire Real Estate Investor and SHIFT: How Top Real Estate Agents Tackle Tough Times. He and his wife, Mary Pfluger, live in Central Texas, and are noted philanthropists and supporters of the arts and local music scene.
