The Austin Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Dealroom.co to launch a platform to help provide information and support the Startup Ecosystem in Central Texas.
The platform is the Austin’s startup & scaleup ecosystem and is a web-based tool providing data and resources to all the different players in the start-up ecosystem.
“Austin has a thriving entrepreneurial spirit, and I am excited for the Austin Chamber to embrace that energy and innovate our support of this vital economic sector,” said Laura Huffman, President and CEO of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. “We want this tool to be a place where startups can find and connect with the resources that they need to grow their business.“
This platform provides data on startups, scaleups, and the overall Central Texas tech ecosystem to bring transparency, analysis, and insights into venture capital activities, resources for startups looking for mentors and accelerators, and much more. Via this open-access platform, Entrepreneurs can profile their company to industry stakeholders by adding or claiming their business to the database.
Investors and venture capital firms can discover the most promising startups and scale-ups before everyone else, track exceptional founders, and perform market research and analysis across industries and locations.
“The Austin Metro is an incredible home for entrepreneurial innovation,” said Roland Peña, Senior Vice President for Global Technology and Innovation for the Austin Chamber of Commerce. “It’s important for us to help continue cultivating a support system around start-ups so they can continue to prosper here in Central Texas. This new technology platform is just one of the ways the Austin Chamber is involved in helping our thriving ecosystem.”
"We are delighted and beyond excited to be supporting the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and Opportunity Austin in the mapping, promotion and overall visibility of the thriving ecosystem in Austin,” said Matthieu Demolin, Head of Ecosystems at Dealroom.co. “We believe that startup ecosystems are everywhere and data, insights and visibility are vital to understand and measure their growth. The Austin platform has already captured more than 3,400 startups and will follow the tremendous growth of the local tech scene in the Central Texas region."
This software will continue to gather data and track new companies as they come online. Additionally, founders and CEOs can claim their companies and update information on their own.
The platform also gathers data about funding rounds and other information from publicly available data sources to give an up-to-date picture of the startup community all year long.
