The Biggest Little Game Show in Texas
Back Roads Entertainment is searching for the next great American game show. This is the chance to have your concept evaluated by top-level industry professionals, participate in a gameshow development/pitching/production master class, and maybe even walk away with a development deal for Back Roads to help you produce and sell your game to major networks and streamers.
Submitting your idea is simple as hitting a buzzer…but the clock is ticking. Just send a short synopsis of your idea along with any supporting material to the email address below along with a completed submission form. All submissions must be received by Midnight, October 9th.
You can send a short video of you and your friends playing the game, a PowerPointstyle presentation explaining the rules, a sound file of the theme song you wrote…whatever gets your point across and best illustrates your concept. And you don’t have to be a television professional…anyone with an idea can participate and maybe see their Merv Griffin dreams come true.
It can be ANYTHING…trivia, physical competition, strategy, skill…whatever kind of game you think the world would love to play...and watch. As long as there are winners, prizes, and a good time…we want to hear about it.
We will select six finalists with the best ideas and invite them to a virtual master class on October 28th with Emmy-nominated and WGA award-winning game show writer/producer and Back Roads VP of Development, Bret Calvert. For those six finalists, Bret will show you the best way to craft your ideas, hone your development, and deliver a pitch that can get your game on the air.
Then, finalists will prepare for the final showdown. On November 13th, all finalists will virtually present their final pitch to Back Roads' panel of experts, including founder and CEO, Colby Gaines. Each finalist will have 15 minutes to pitch and play a miniature version of their game, plus a 5-minute Q&A with the panel.
Ultimately, the panel will pick (at least) one idea as the winner, and the creator will win a development deal with Back Roads and $15,000! We will help you finalize your materials, bring you (virtually) to meetings with top buyers at networks/streamers and do everything we can to get your game out to the masses with your name on it.
We’re looking for the best game development and producing talent that Texas has to offer. The person who will ultimately win this competition is reading this sentence right now. It might as well be you.
