Texas Mutual donates $150K to Texas Hill Country nonprofits for flood recovery

Texas Mutual Insurance Company, the state’s leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance, today announced a total donation of $150,000 to three Texas Hill Country nonprofits to support recovery and rebuilding after severe flooding moved through the region on July 16.

"Creating a stronger, safer Texas means standing with communities in their greatest moments of need and supporting the nonprofit organizations that help them recover," said Veronica Martinez, senior manager of impact & community partnerships at Texas Mutual. "Across the Texas Hill Country, nonprofits are providing critical services and helping families and small businesses rebuild after devastating floods. We're honored to support their work and invest in the organizations that are strengthening communities today and for the future."

Texas Mutual selected nonprofit funding recipients addressing different aspects of recovery, including direct support for impacted small businesses, response efforts, locally coordinated long-term recovery efforts and broader rebuilding needs across the region:

  • LiftFund – $110,000: This funding will provide ten $10,000 grants directly to small businesses impacted by the flooding, with an additional $10,000 supporting administration of the program. Small businesses across all 16 impacted counties are eligible for assistance.
  • Kerr Together Long-Term Recovery Group – $20,000: Provided through the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, this funding will support locally coordinated response and long-term recovery efforts to help address remaining needs of individuals, families and the community work toward recovery.
  • Rebuild Texas Fund – $20,000: This investment will support broader recovery and rebuilding needs associated with the Hill Country flooding through the OneStar Foundation.
