St. David’s Medical Center makes Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026
St. David’s Medical Center recognized for excellence in
cardiac, neurological and pulmonary care
AUSTIN, Texas—St. David’s Medical Center was recently recognized nationally among Newsweek’s America’s Best Hospitals for Specialized Care 2026. For the second consecutive year, the facility received recognition for excellence in cardiac, neurological and pulmonary care. St. David’s Medical Center was the top-ranked Austin facility in each of the cardiac, neurology and pulmonary specialties.
“For St. David’s Medical Center to be nationally awarded in three separate specialties is a reflection of the exceptional care our team of physicians, nurses and support staff provide to every patient every day,” Todd Steward, chief executive officer of St. David’s Medical Center, said. “This recognition would not have been possible without the incredible expertise and compassion of our healthcare teams who work tirelessly to improve the lives of the patients and families we serve.”
Newsweekpartnered with statistics portal and industry ranking provider Statista to provide patients and families with a comprehensive, data-driven resource to support informed decision-making in finding the best hospitals for specific medical needs. There were 200 hospitals ranked for each of the seven medical specialties.
The rankings are based on four data sources: Results from a patient experience survey; hospital quality metrics relevant to the respective medical specialties; nationwide online survey of healthcare professionals and hospital managers with expertise about the medical specialties; and a survey to help healthcare organizations understand how they are using patient feedback tools.
In 2026, St. David’s Medical Center was also recognized on Newsweek’s list of Best Maternity Hospitals and World’s Best Hospitals.
