Shayda Torabi named Extraordinary Woman by Austin Statesman
Torabi was named a 2023 Extraordinary Woman by the Austin American Statesman and Thomas J. Henry Law for her work building RESTART CBD as one of Austin's premier cannabis brands after first discovering CBD in 2015 to help her manage chronic pain from an auto-pedestrian accident she was in. Since the launch of RESTART in 2018, Torabi, who started the business with her sisters, have leveraged their brand to help destigmatize cannabis by investing in consumer education and high-quality products, which has led them to winning Best of Austin year after year. In addition to their investment in the consumer journey, Torabi is also a public advocate speaking out about cannabis and hemp policy here in the state and operates as President of the Texas Hemp Coalition, an organization dedicated to professionalizing the industry in Texas by helping to influence policy and legislation. Torabis is honored to be recognized as an Extraordinary Woman in her hometown of Austin, Texas.
