R/GA Austin Teams Up with RaceTrac to Gamify the Sports Fan Experience
This inconsistent sports year has led to many upsets like the lack of in-person fan engagement, especially if it involves racing the insanely-fast The Freeze during a Braves’ game. To bring the excitement of the games to sports fans on their own devices, R/GA Austin worked with its client RaceTrac, one of the official sponsor of The Atlanta Braves and The Freeze experience, to gamify The Freeze experience through the development of an AR Instagram filter, #FindTheFreeze Twitter challenge and various social and digital elements.
In order to beat The Freeze, fans must shake their heads in a rapid motion while running through a tundra made of RaceTrac’s famous Swirl World frozen yogurt. Those who are lucky to beat The Freeze are able to win Freeze-themed posters, T-shirts and RaceTrac products like the Swirl World frozen treat.
