AUSTIN, TX — Iron Bond Search Partners, a veteran-founded entrepreneurship-through-acquisition firm, is proud to announce its membership in the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. Co-founders Andrew “Dru” Nkansah and Phil Dontje are actively searching for one Austin-area business to acquire, lead, and grow for the long term. They are eager to connect with the Greater Austin business community.
Who We Are
Dru Nkansah and Phil Dontje are more than business partners; they are brothers in arms. Both served as U.S. Army Rangers in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment, one of the most selective and demanding units in the U.S. military. Together, they deployed across multiple combat theaters, earning the discipline, resilience, and mission-first leadership mindset that now defines everything Iron Bond does.
Dru Nkansah is based in Austin, TX. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point (Class of 2015 - "For Those We Lead"), Dru commissioned as an Army intelligence officer before earning his Ranger Tab and serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment as well as the National Security Agency-Georgia. Among the many awards earned during service, Dru was decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal and served in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. After retiring in 2023, Dru went on to earn his MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Class of 2025). He is also a credentialed information security professional, holding recognized industry certifications that reflect a combination of deep expertise across cybersecurity leadership, governance, risk, and compliance. Ultimately, he brings a rare convergence of elite Special Operations and Intelligence Community experience, world-class business education, and a faith-driven commitment to servant leadership.
Phil Dontje is based in Washington State. He served for 15 years in the U.S. Army in intelligence and operational roles, spending the second half of his career with the 75th Ranger Regiment, one of the military’s premier special operations units. As a Targeting Officer, Phil specialized in translating complex intelligence into operational planning and execution in high pressure environments. During his time in Regiment, he helped stand up the Regimental Military Intelligence Battalion and deployed repeatedly to combat environments across the Middle East and Africa. After medically retiring from the Army in 2020, Phil pursued advanced study in mathematics, earning a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Washington Tacoma and beginning doctoral studies in mathematics with an emphasis on applied algebraic topology at Washington State University Vancouver before transitioning to Data Science. He is currently completing an M.S. in Data Science at Western Governors University. A father of five and an author, Phil brings disciplined leadership, systems thinking, and operational rigor to building and leading enduring businesses.
