AUSTIN, Texas – Elizabeth Christian Public Relations (ECPR)—one of the state’s largest independent agencies—has promoted several longtime staff members to start the new year and mark the firm’s 25th anniversary. Kathleen Smith is the firm’s new chief financial officer; Levente McCrary has been named executive vice president; Erin Ochoa and David Wyatt are senior vice presidents; and both Katherine (Kat) Griffith and Lia Truitt have been promoted to vice presidents. They assumed their new roles on Jan. 1.

“Having a strong leadership team allows us to advance our clients’ interests and the public relations profession as we support quality journalism every day,” Elizabeth Christian, ECPR chief executive officer, said. “These senior leaders will help guide us in our 25th year and into the future.”

The leadership team works with Christian and Kristin Marcum, ECPR president, to further services and insights for the firm’s diverse portfolio of clients.

“It’s been a privilege to watch these leaders grow personally and professionally over the years,” Marcum said. “They’ve demonstrated a true commitment to ECPR and the clients we serve, and I’m eager to see the impact they’ll have on our ability to help our clients influence change in this community.”

Christian founded the agency in 1995 and continues to lead ECPR day to day. The firm—which this year celebrates 25 years of public relations service to the state and nation—counts among its clients Downtown Austin Alliance, Google, St. David’s HealthCare and Texas Mutual Insurance Company, among others. ECPR recently led the campaign to bring Major League Soccer to Austin.

ECPR is dedicated to developing and delivering meaningful, strategic and measurable communications that align with its clients’ objectives. The firm specializes in projects involving business development, crisis communications, event planning, legislative and grassroots efforts, media relations, social media planning and execution, and video production.
