Driftwood Builders Roofing Wins the 2026 ACG Austin / San Antonio Deal of the Year Award
Driftwood Builders Roofing has been named the 2026 ACG Austin / San Antonio Deal of the Year, recognizing the ownership transition that kept a longtime Central Texas company locally owned while positioning it for its next chapter of growth.
The award was presented by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Austin / San Antonio on September 16, 2026, at the Headliners Club in Austin.
Founded in 2005 by Todd Munsinger, Driftwood Builders Roofing has completed more than 3,700 projects throughout Central Texas. After nearly two decades building the company, Todd sold Driftwood to Nicholas Riley who has been working in home services since he was 10 years old.
At a time when many locally owned home-service companies are being acquired by large consolidators and private-equity-backed platforms, Driftwood took a different path. The transition allowed the company to remain independently and locally owned while bringing in a new generation of leadership focused on preserving its relationships, reputation, and Central Texas roots.
The recognition is especially meaningful to Driftwood because Austin's business community has played such an important role in the company's growth.
Today, Driftwood estimates that roughly 80% of its marketing budget is reinvested with local businesses and organizations, including local media, community groups, events, and referral partners.
“Our belief is simple: Austin businesses helped build Driftwood, so Driftwood should help build Austin businesses,” Riley said.
As Driftwood enters its third decade, the company is expanding beyond roofing into siding, windows, gutters, and other exterior services while continuing to invest in its employees, trade partners, and relationships throughout Central Texas.
“Our goal is to prove that a locally owned contractor can grow without losing the connection to the community that made it successful,” Riley said. “This award may have Driftwood's name on it, but the story behind it is very much an Austin story.”
