COTA Observation Tower Climb in Honor of 9/11 Anniversary
Samaritan Center Honors the 20th Anniversary of 9/11
Samaritan Center (https://samaritan-center.org/) is hosting a tower climb at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) Observation Tower on September 11, 2021 at 8:00 am. The event will honor first responders and veterans. The event will feature a firefighter-style tower climb and a military tribute to the first responders who lost their lives on 9/11. The event is open to anyone who would like to climb the tower. Registration is open and the admission fee is $30, which benefits Samaritan Center’s mental health and integrative medicine programs for veterans, first responders, military, and their families.
Towering 251-feet into the Austin sky is the iconic Observation Tower. COTA’s colorful centerpiece features an array of 18 red, decorative steel pipes that flow from above the observation deck, down its north side. The Tower is 25 stories up and has 419 stairs. “It is a challenge designed to honor and remember the American lives lost on 9/11. We will pay a tribute to the first responders lost by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center,” said Gonzalo Herrera, Marine Corps Veteran, CSCS.
