Stuart Investment Advisors announces brand refresh and leadership evolution as "Money Talk" moves to KUT Austin, marking new chapter in 46-year Austin financial services legacy

AUSTIN, TX – Stuart Investment Advisors, the Austin-based financial advisory firm founded by Carl Stuart, today announced a comprehensive rebranding initiative that reflects the firm's evolution and the integration of next-generation leadership. The announcement coincides with Carl Stuart's transition of his longtime radio show "Money Talk" from KLBJ to KUT Austin, Austin's NPR affiliate.

A Legacy Built on Trust and Education

For 46 years, Carl Stuart has been a trusted advisor in Austin's financial landscape, building his practice on the principle of demystifying complex financial concepts for everyday investors. His approach, combining institutional-level investment strategies with accessible communication, has made sophisticated wealth management available to Austin's community.

"When I started in 1979, I made a commitment to speak in plain English and treat every caller with respect," said Carl Stuart, founder of Carl Stuart Investment Advisor. "That philosophy hasn't changed, but everything else about how we serve our clients continues to evolve.""

The firm’s rebrand from Carl Stuart Investment Advisor to Stuart Investment Advisors reflects this evolution, emphasizing the company's institutional approach while preparing for its next chapter under the leadership of Carl's daughter, Lindsey Stuart.

Radio Show Finds New Home on KUT

Stuart's "Money Talk" program, which has been a Saturday afternoon fixture on Austin radio for over 30 years, moved to KUT Austin in April 2025. The transition to Austin's premier public radio station represents both a homecoming and a new beginning, as KUT has added a substantial amount of listeners in the past year and now serves as Austin's #1 rated station.

"Moving to KUT allows us to reach the audience that most aligns with our values and approach," Stuart explained. "The thoughtful, educated listenership appreciates the kind of long-term, resilient investment philosophy we've always championed."

The show continues to feature Stuart's signature approach: taking listener calls and texts, offering practical financial guidance, and demystifying investment concepts.

Next-Generation Leadership Takes Shape

The rebrand also reflects the integration of Lindsey Stuart, who brings over 20 years of experience in education and nonprofit leadership to the firm. Her addition represents more than succession planning, it reflects the firm's commitment to evolving its client service model while maintaining its core investment philosophy.

"We're building on Dad's foundation of integrity and expertise while adding new capabilities around philanthropy, education, and next-generation wealth transfer," said Lindsey Stuart. "Our clients are aging with us, and we want to be there for their families' evolving needs."

The firm's new visual identity, developed by Austin-based Found Brand Agency, reflects this balance of legacy and innovation. The refreshed branding maintains the sophisticated, approachable aesthetic that has characterized the firm while incorporating modern design elements that speak to both current and future clients.

Investment Philosophy Remains Constant

Despite the external changes, Stuart Investment Advisors' core investment approach remains unchanged. The firm continues to focus on:

1. Balanced and resilient portfolios designed to minimize large losses while achieving growth

2. Institutional-level investment utilizing daily liquid mutual funds with sophisticated strategies while remaining accessible to our clients

3. Independent fiduciary service with access to any investment vehicle, unconstrained by proprietary products

4. Long-term perspective that builds for life, not the next market cycle, prioritizing pragmatic investing over chasing market trends

Carl Stuart's extensive experience serving on investment committees for major institutions, including university endowments and foundations managing billions of dollars, provides the firm with unique insights and access to portfolio managers typically unavailable to retail investors.

Austin Community Commitment Continues

The Stuart family's deep commitment to Austin extends far beyond financial services, reflecting a multigenerational dedication to building stronger communities through both leadership and service.

Carl Stuart has been a cornerstone of Austin's nonprofit landscape for decades, currently serving on the boards of Zach Theatre, the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, and Austin Smiles. His extensive community leadership includes past board chair and trustee positions with Big Brothers Big Sisters, YMCA of Austin, People's Community Clinic, Austin PBS, St. Stephen's Episcopal School, and the Texas Presbyterian Foundation. This breadth of involvement demonstrates the firm's long-standing belief that strong businesses have a responsibility to strengthen their communities.

Lindsey Stuart brings her own distinguished record of community service, shaped by over 20 years in public education and nonprofit leadership. Before joining the firm in 2023, she served as Director of Austin ISD’s Office of Innovation and Development and Austin Ed Fund. Her work in strategy and fundraising for Austin ISD helped bring more than $140 million into local schools, demonstrating her commitment to educational equity and community investment. She recently served as Board President of BookSpring; currently Lindsey serves as PTA President at Ridgetop Elementary and sits on the Endowment Board at St. Stephen's Episcopal School.

The firm proudly supports Austin organizations including Austin Ed Fund, Austin PBS, Big Brothers Big Sisters, BookSpring, Foundation Communities, Hospice Austin, People's Community Clinic, Seedling Mentoring Program, and St. Stephen's Episcopal School through donations, board service, and mentorship.

Lindsey's vision for the firm includes expanding this commitment through strategic philanthropic advisory services. Drawing on her extensive background in grant writing and nonprofit board service, she sees an opportunity to help clients align their wealth with their values through thoughtful, impactful giving. Lindsey notes, "There's tremendous power in helping families understand how to give strategically, not just generously."

This community-first approach reflects the firm's core philosophy that stewardship extends beyond portfolio management to encompass the broader responsibility of putting wealth to work for positive impact.

Looking Forward

As Stuart Investment Advisors enters its next chapter, the firm remains committed to its founding principles while embracing new opportunities to serve Austin's growing and evolving community. The rebrand represents not just a visual refresh, but a strategic positioning for continued growth and multigenerational service.

"Success for me is ensuring this transition serves our clients and this community for decades to come," Carl Stuart noted. "This rebrand isn't about changing who we are, it's about clearly communicating who we've always been and who we're becoming."
