Amplify Credit Union debuts podcast highlighting leaders that are shaping the future of Austin
Recognized and rising voices in Austin’s foodservice, government and business sector to be featured in first four episodes
AUSTIN, Texas—Today, Amplify Credit Union debuted the launch of Changing Austin, a new podcast series rooted in storytelling and designed to elevate the voices of individuals shaping the future of Austin. The series will spotlight leaders from across various industries who are driving innovation and guiding decisions in Central Texas. Amplify started this podcast to provide local leaders with a platform to share their thoughts on the rapid transformation of our community and how they hope to honor the Austin of yesterday while meeting the needs of the Austin of tomorrow.
“The story of each business and nonprofit in our community is the story of Austin itself,” Stacy Armijo, chief experience officer at Amplify Credit Union, said. “My hope is that these conversations spark new ideas, strengthen our sense of community, and encourage new ideas for purpose-driven leaders. At a time when the city is evolving quickly, Changing Austin helps us thoughtfully capture that evolution together.”
Each episode will explore topics that are both personal and professional such as consistency vs. adaptation, evolution vs. revolution and the stresses and strengths of effective leadership.
Early episodes feature voices such as:
- Mason Ayer, chief executive officer, Kerbey Lane All Day Cafe
- Davon Barbour, president and CEO, Downtown Austin Alliance
- Kara Hanaoka, executive director, Good Works Austin
- The Honorable Denise Hernández, Judge, Travis County Court #6
These topics also mirror the broader changes shaping Austin’s workforce and economy, as growth across key sectors continues to influence how people lead, adapt and plan for the future. The city’s job market continues to outpace national trends, fueled by expansion in infrastructure, technology and social impact ventures. According to Workforce Solutions Capital Area, Austin’s infrastructure sector employed more than 222,000 residents in 2024 and is projected to grow by more than 80% by 2040.
“As Austin grows, we’re not just watching from the sidelines, we’re pulling up a chair to the table,” Matt Monagle, vice president of marketing at Amplify Credit Union, said. “This is a platform where local leaders can translate the stories of their organizations into actionable management and leadership insights. Our hope is that meaningful change comes from amplifying the people who are bridging Austin’s past and future.”
Episodes of Changing Austin will be released biweekly and are available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. To learn more, listen and subscribe, visit changingaustin.com.
