Is in your bucket list to visit a popular destination when it is not too crowded? Usually during shoulder season the demand is neither high nor low. Shoulder seasons occur in spring and fall – March through May for Europe or September and October for tropical beaches. In addition, less demand goes in hand with lower flight prices and better hotel deals. Another factor to take in consideration is that some destinations in Europe are very hot during summer (Rome, Athens, Madrid, and others), so if you prefer cool temperatures, the shoulder season is the best. Also, if you want to visit the popular attractions in a destination, you might avoid the crowds by exploring them early in the morning or just before closing time. Usually they are more crowded at midday.
So if you do not have vacation time constraints such as children at school, you might want to consider taking your vacation during shoulder season.
