Pulsar Industries was initially incepted as Voltabox of Texas Inc. in 2014 in Cedar Park, Texas as a subsidiary of German battery company Voltabox AG. The projects Voltabox of Texas managed included batteries for trolley busses, mining vehicles, idle mitigation, battery trailers, and large stationary ESS. After the IPO in 2017 (DB: VBX), during which $155Mn was raised, the parent company decided to divest the US manufacturing and automotive business in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted the market. Then CEO for North America, Thomas Becker, redefined the company as a service provider for consulting around lithium-ion battery design and manufacturing. In 2023, he bought the North American companies and formed Pulsar Industries to continue supporting emerging lithium battery product design, engineering, and manufacturing.
