Engage and Heal Foundation

Engage and Heal Foundation is a local charity founded in 2019 to help erase the stigma of mental health. We provide resources and education to better understand mental health and help those who are suffering. Recovery starts with a simple conversation.

Our mission is to engage communities to create a world where mental health is prioritized and every young person feels heard, supported and connected.

O U R H I S T O R Y: The journey began back in August 2018 when Erik Hanson died by suicide. He graduated from Lake Travis High School in 2017: an Honors student, Varsity football player and swimmer, and Eagle Scout. He attended Texas A&M University and was a cadet in the Corps. He had everything going for him until May 2018 when he began to show signs of struggle; he died 3 months later. We founded the Erik Hanson Memorial Scholarship and awarded three $2000 scholarships to LT football players that did not have a division 1 or academic scholarship and were in need. Engage and Heal was the tagline line for the scholarship – an acronym for Erik’s name.
