Certificate of Origin
A Certificate of Origin (COO) is often required for businesses that export goods to specific countries. This document confirms where the products were manufactured and may be necessary because some countries place restrictions or quotas on imports from certain regions. It is the responsibility of the exporting company to determine whether a Certificate of Origin is required and which type is appropriate.
Since the document must include an authorized signature and official seal from a local chamber, the Austin Chamber of Commerce offers this certification service in accordance with the procedures outlined below.

Procedure
1. The COO must be completely filled out and notarized prior to being presented to the Austin Chamber of Commerce for signature and seal.
2. COOs should list product information verbatim to what is on the invoice. Do not leave off product numbers, quantities or descriptions.
The Austin Chamber only attests to the documents as they are presented—it is not attesting to the validity of the claim of where the goods were produced. Furthermore, the Austin Chamber will not be held liable if the U.S. Company does not present all of the appropriate documentation needed for international importation or exportation, or any other reason that may result in the company’s shipment being held at foreign customs.
3. COOs will be authorized at our office as scheduled. View our availability here.
4. After the COO has been signed and sealed by the Austin Chamber, it is not to be altered in any way.
5. Fees are $20 for members and $40 for non-members.
