On Saturday, August 22nd, the Chamber’s Vice President of Talent Development Kwee Lan Teo participated in a panel discussion “On Making Career Moves” as part of the Summer WORK Conference. In this session, creatives, entrepreneurs and seasoned career-building experts chatted about breaking into new industries and developing professional skills. Kwee Lan was joined by multidisciplinary entrepreneur Celeste Quesada, digital marketer Hali Martin and Loom’s Lead Product Designer Desirée Zamora García.

Kwee Lan shared her experience in her own career progression and how she uses that background to inform the work she does in talent development at the Chamber. When it comes to making career moves, she emphasized that it’s all about relationships. She recommended maintaining connections to previous co-workers and keeping your LinkedIn profile updated and active.

Members of the WORK Conference team also recommended the Chamber’s job board and workforce resources, which demonstrate the Chamber’s commitment to keep Austin working, even in challenging times.
