Wise, the global technology company building the best way to move and manage the world’s money, continues its remarkable growth journey here in Austin with a significant expansion of its North American office hub. The company has increased its current workspace by 200% to 90,000 square feet in total to occupy three floors in the Domain. This strategic investment reflects both the company's accelerating growth in North America and Austin's continued appeal as a destination for scaling tech companies.

Meeting Growing Demand in North America

The expansion comes at a pivotal time for Wise's evolving presence in the US, where customers increasingly need alternatives to high-fee wire transfers, slow international money movement, and unclear foreign exchange costs. With over 700 employees in the US and continued hiring across all functions, the Austin office serves as home to teams from across the business—from engineering and product development to marketing and customer support.

Isabel Naidoo, Chief People Officer at Wise, said: "The expansion of our Austin office hub is a powerful testament to the opportunity we have in North America. Austin's dynamic and developing technology landscape serves as an exciting backdrop that will support the Wise team as we continue to build offerings that meet the international money needs of our growing customer base both locally and globally.”

Designing for Innovation and Culture

The expanded space reflects Wise's global culture while embracing local Austin character. Unique collaboration and individual workspaces are designed to inspire employees and promote cross-functional innovation, while dedicated wellness areas—including a multi-faith prayer room, quiet spaces, and a wellness room with massage chairs—support employee wellbeing.

Local touches throughout the office connect Wise's global mission with Austin's distinctive identity. Ceiling fixtures draw inspiration from the State Capitol building, wave-shaped furniture mirrors the city's geography, and new murals feature Austin's famous bats in artwork created by employees' children. These design elements reflect Wise's approach of balancing a shared company vision of "money without borders" with deep local focus.

This strategic investment underscores Wise’s commitment to North America and reinforces its position as a fast-growing tech company and a major employer in Austin. It also cements Austin's reputation as a premier destination for global tech companies.

Community Celebration

The milestone was marked with a celebration that brought together Wise leadership and Austin's business community. Wise Co-Founder and CEO Kristo Käärmann joined Austin-based Wisers for the occasion, alongside local leaders and partners including Opportunity Austin, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, and the Austin Technology Council.

Mayor Kirk Watson also participated virtually, sharing a congratulatory video recognizing Wise's role in the city's tech ecosystem. He said: “Texas is committed to supporting global success stories like Wise as they grow their presence in the US. Wise is a great example of the kind of innovative, high-growth businesses that make Austin a leading hub for tech companies. Its success highlights the strength of our ecosystem - one that fosters entrepreneurship, attracts investments and creates high-skilled jobs. It demonstrates that Austin remains one of the best places to start and grow a business.”

Accelerating Growth

For Wise, this expansion represents more than increased capacity—it's an investment in the company's ability to serve North American customers who need better solutions for international money management. The Domain location positions the company within one of Austin's key innovation centers, providing access to the talent and collaborative environment that supports Wise's continued growth.

As the company continues building the infrastructure to move and manage money globally, the expanded Austin hub will play a central role in developing solutions for one of Wise's fastest-growing markets. Overall, this news is sure to put on full display the mutual benefits that emerge when innovative companies and dynamic cities grow together.
