Wayback Burgers hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 12 and grand opening celebration on Saturday, January 14, in honor of its new Austin, TX location.

Founded in 1991 in Newark, Delaware, Wayback Burgers is a Connecticut-based fast-casual franchise with a reputation for cooked to order burgers and thick, hand-dipped milkshakes, served in an environment that hearkens back to a simpler place and time — when customer service meant something, and everyone felt the warmth of the community. Wayback Burgers of Austin is the first location owned and operated by Nihal Chhina. Chhina was inspired to open a restaurant of his own by multiple relatives who work in the restaurant industry.

He became interested in Wayback Burgers after visiting another location with a friend and learning more about the franchisee process. Chhina is excited to introduce Wayback Burgers and its high-quality menu items to both new and familiar faces in the Austin community. Specifically, the Classic Burger and Buffalo Chicken Tenders are amongst the owner’s favorite menu items.

We are pleased to continue the expansion of Wayback Burgers in Texas with the official opening of our Austin restaurant,” said Patrick Conlin, President of Wayback Burgers. “With operations in 35 states and new restaurants extending our footprint nationwide, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Wayback Burgers family. We look forward to the success of our excellent franchise partners, Nihal and Aarsi Chhina, and are excited to introduce Wayback Burgers to the Austin community.”

Since 2018, Wayback Burgers has served as a proud partner of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, having raised over $825,000 to date through donating a portion of the proceeds made for every burger and sandwich sold.

The Austin location is located at 12901 North Interstate Highway 35. You can also find out more and order online on their website: WaybackBurgers.com.
