Walter Zaykowski promoted to Senior Director of Advocacy and Communications for Regional Mobility and Infrastructure

Walter Zaykowski was promoted to the position of Senior Director of Advocacy and Communications for Regional Mobility and Infrastructure. In this position, Walter will work with the Air Services Task Force and Transportation Committee to advance policies supported by the business community. This includes serving as a spokesperson for the Greater Austin Chamber on transportation issues, working with the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, and various transportation groups including the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. Walter joined the Austin Chamber in September 2016 and served as the Director of Education and Public Relations.

Prior to joining the Austin Chamber, Walter served as s senior advisor to Senator Richard Burr and as communications director for U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul.

“Austin and the surrounding region have experienced unprecedented growth over the last 15 years. With that growth comes many exciting opportunities, and many challenges,” he said. “I am excited to work with our outstanding business leaders and volunteers to ensure our region is adapting and improving when it comes to transportation and mobility.”

Walter was born in Rhode Island and received a B.A in communications studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He and his wife have a two-year-old son named Wally.
