ViaAir offers nonstop service to popular ski destination

Continuing a tremendous run of 68 new direct flights from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) thus far in 2017, ViaAir announced starting December 13 it will provide nonstop service between the ABIA and Steamboat Springs.

“The new ViaAir Steamboat Springs nonstop connects Central Texas ski enthusiasts to a great winter resort destination,” Jim Smith, Executive Director of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, said in a statement. “We welcome ViaAir’s continued growth at the Austin airport.”

ViaAir’s new nonstop seasonal flight between Austin and Steamboat Springs / Hayden will operate three times per week on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The flights will arrive and depart from the South Terminal from Dec. 13, 2017, through April 1, 2018, on an Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft with 50 seats.

Flights depart AUS at 11:05 a.m. and arrive at HDN at 12:29 p.m. Flights depart HDN at 6:10 p.m. and arrive at AUS at 9:19 p.m. All times are local with additional flights available on Jan. 2, 4 and 9, 2018. Fares will start at $109 one way. To book your flight, click here.

The Air Service Task Force, which began as part of the Chamber’s Opportunity Austin initiative, works with ABIA to increase the number of direct US and international flights to Central Texas. The next task force meeting will be held Wednesday, September 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Austin Chamber of Commerce boardroom.
