Taking a break from technology is increasingly difficult. The average Verizon home internet household now has 18 connected devices, meaning we are more surrounded by technology than ever, with devices constantly competing for our time and attention.
This summer, Verizon launched its Verizon Arcade Unplugged mobile tour, challenging families to disconnect and engage in play. This family-friendly pop-up provided an opportunity for genuine, face-to-face interactions often missed in our hyper-connected lives.
The tour included a stop at Classic Game Fest – the largest retro gaming event in the state – held at the Palmer Events Center from July 25-27. Attendees of Classic Game Fest had a chance to enjoy Verizon Arcade Unplugged’s experiences including:
- Laser Maze: Navigate through blacklight “lasers” without tripping the alarm to get to the next level.
- Labyrinth Runner: Work together to guide a magnetic ball through a two-part maze to reach the next checkpoint.
- Light Dash: Hit light-up buttons quickly to test speed, coordination, and memory before the lights turn off.
- Hidden Keys: Crack the correct combination of keys to activate a crank and illuminate the correct exit door for victory.
Verizon continues its commitment to digital wellness, having first unveiled the highly successful Verizon Arcade Unplugged in NYC on the Global Day of Unplugging (March 7), which then expanded into this cross-country tour over the past several months.
