Urban Mining Company, which is relocating from Maryland, will construct a 100,000 square foot facility on 10 acres and create more than 100 advanced manufacturing and technology jobs to San Marcos and Hays County. Key factors leading to the choice of San Marcos were the central location, workforce availability, the presence of Texas State University’s Material Science, Engineering, and Commercialization program, and available land. The City of San Marcos and Hays County offered incentives in the form of partial ten-year property tax rebates.
