In March 2020, Tso Chinese Delivery was already running an incredibly successful restaurant that specialized in a free delivery and quick takeout service experience. When many Austinites were displaced by COVID-19, the owners lept into action through the #tsogiving initiative.

Tso Chinese Delivery will continue its #TsoGiving outreach with the launch of its #50kForTeachers initiative on May 1st, with the mission to give back to teachers in the Austin community.
#50kForTeachers aims to give $50 in free meals from Tso Chinese Delivery to 1000 teachers during the month of May as a "thank you" for their commitment to education.
“The need to homeschool our children has shed a bright light on the incredible work our teachers put in,” said Tso’s co-founder and CEO, Min Choe.
“Often under-appreciated and underpaid, we wanted to let our teachers know that they are loved and that we appreciate them.”
$50k for teachers
To apply, teachers can visit tsogiving.com and fill out a form with their information for verification. Once approved, teachers will receive a $50 credit in their Tso account, allowing them to order food at their convenience for free delivery (within Tso’s Central and North Austin delivery zone) or contactless pick-up at either Tso location.
Through #TsoGiving, Tso Chinese Delivery have already given over $45,000 worth of food to those impacted by COVID-19 in the Austin area. They just wrapped a curbside drive-through initiative which gave free food to those in need, every weekend of the month of April.
The community has responded generously and has made over $25,000 in cash donations to the these efforts. Donations to #TsoGiving can be made through Venmo and GoFundMe, with 100% of proceeds going to the #TsoGiving initiative.
