Name:
Rachelle “Chelly” Bell

Years as Chamber Ambassador:
Two-and-a-half years

Company:
Office Furniture Now!

Resounding Words:
"Always be excelsior, ever upward."

Why are you an ambassador?
In order to make substantial connections in the community, I enjoy the opportunity to give back, to welcome new businesses, and continue to nurture and grow existing relationships.

What’s the best part of being an ambassador?
The opportunity to interact with like-minded business individuals that want to help grow the Austin community is a wonderful perk of being an ambassador.

How would you convince others to become an ambassador?
I would inform them of all the attributes the Austin Chamber provides such as the member directory, educational events, and community awareness. The social opportunities are fantastic as well.

What are some of the events in your life that made you who you are?
Going to India with the Rotary Club as part of their Cultural Vocational Exchange Program, really helped me realize and expand my overall awareness. Those experiences made me want to be more philanthropic and expand my volunteerism.

What is one of your favorite smells?
Jasmine Gardenia; it’s weird I know, but I am into it. I’m a little old lady on the inside (laughs)

What song or artist do you like but rarely admit to liking?
Happy by Pharrell Williams or Luke Bryan

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I have ever received was don’t be fearful, just do it and if you fail try again.

Is there anything else we should know?
My company, Office Furniture Now!, relocated to 4201 Supply Court 78744. Come by and see our new place!

In 2016, the Austin Chamber awarded Rachelle with the Volunteer Ambassador of the Year Award. The Ambassador Committee meets monthly. If you are interested in joining, contact Melanee Ferrier at 512-322-5684.
