Committed to a culture of service, we offer employees the opportunity to participate in more than 150 volunteer initiatives worldwide – and eight specific to Austin – during our annual Global Month of Volunteering.

Throughout our signature giving event in July, associates are encouraged to participate in one, two or even a few of the many philanthropic activities taking place in our own backyards. This year Austin initiatives included enriching the lives of dogs and cats at Austin Animal Center, and distributing food to community members from the Mobile Pantry in association with The Central Texas Food Bank.

“It felt great to connect with people as they made their way through the line,” said Duane Mattson, Vice President and Senior Compliance Officer with PIMCO. “Central Texas Food Bank is a terrific organization that made the event go smoothly. It was an impactful afternoon.”

Since opening our office in Texas in 2018 and through our Purpose at PIMCO initiative, 80% of our Austin employees have participated in one or more corporate volunteer events, donating over 330 hours of service. We’ve also established community partnerships with five local organizations including Girls Empowerment Network, Community First! Village and The Central Texas Food Bank, where we helped generate more than 60,000 meals for people in need during the course of the year.

As a dedicated member of the Austin community, we fully understand both the opportunity and obligation to effect meaningful social change where we live and work. And we strive to make a philanthropic impact that enables individuals, families and neighborhoods to thrive.

To that end, we are deeply honored to be recognized again as one of America’s most community-minded companies in the 2019 Civic 50 list. This annual initiative from Points of Light – the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service – identifies the top 50 U.S. companies that invest their time, skills and other resources to improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business.
