Overcoming adversity leads to new Parlor Beauty Bar

Located at 1621 E. 6th Street, directly across from the White Horse, Parlor Beauty Bar held its grand opening. A member since June 2017, attendees shared love and admiration for business owner Charlotte Feliciano as she inspires women to keep moving forward regardless of their obstacles.

“This is so important to me because five years ago, I was in a wheelchair,” said Charlotte Feliciano, the owner of the Parlor Beauty Bar as she talked about surviving two major car accidents while relocating to the city.

The aftermath of undergoing multiple surgeries, countless doctor appointments, and physical pain changed the course of her life. She realized with the injuries, she was unable to perform everyday physical activities like washing or drying her hair. In the midst of her struggles, that’s when the idea of Parlor Beauty Bar was born. “But that actually gave me the opportunity to open the parlor. So with everything that happens, there is obviously a silver lining and I am so proud of the fact that you are all here with me.”

Parlor Beauty Bar is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment on Monday. The company specializes in blowouts, waxing, makeup, tans, microblading, and everything in between. The Parlor Beauty Bar is passionate about giving back to the Central Texas community and creating a work environment where their team can thrive.

“She saw a need for a one-stop blow dry and styling lounge that would empower women to feel comfortable in their skin,” said Rene Campos, ambassador of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. “Charlotte believes that beauty should be approachable, not intimidating. There is something for every kind of woman at Parlor Beauty Bar. So, we at the Chamber look forward to a long-lasting relationship.”

The grand opening was held June 29. For more information on Parlor Beauty Bar, click here or call 512-770-6746.
