Multifamily housing leader goes above and beyond for ATX Helps

To provide Austinites experiencing homelessness with transitional shelter and services, it is going to take companies and individuals coming together—then going above and beyond.

That’s exactly what Alliance Residential Company has done in already raising $31,123 of their $50,000 goal. Alliance is one of the largest private U.S. multifamily companies with offices throughout the West, Southwest, South-Central, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. It was the passion of the local office in Austin that really drove them to do more than their standard contribution budgets might normally allow.

“Supporting those in vulnerable housing situations is one of the pillars of our Alliance Cares giving and volunteering program,” says Kelly Vickers, Alliance’s vice president of corporate social responsibility. “And with a presence in Austin, we wanted to do our part to help fight homelessness there.”

Like many businesses, Alliance has a charitable contribution budget every year. However, this particular donation exceeded that amount. As is often the case, this local campaign was spearheaded by one of the company’s partners who is based in Texas.

When asked why the company is committed to helping populations experiencing homelessness, Vickers says:

“Homelessness is an issue all major cities in this country are facing and rates are going up—we can all relate to it. Homelessness is not an isolated issue but tied to so many other issues like addiction, abuse, employment, mental health, lack of affordable housing, just to name a few. Without support, the cycle of homelessness persists, and it leads to so many systemic issues in individuals, families and throughout our society. It is critical that homelessness is addressed.”

As builders and providers of homes, Alliance is passionate about addressing this issue, and it shows. They’re not finished fundraising, and anyone can give to their campaign at atxhelps.org/alliance.
